My second day in London is coming to an end. What a great day it has been! Yesterday I was a bit stressed out about the amount of people (tourists) here in London, but today was much better.
Kensington, Notting Hill, Harrods etc.
I’ve walked a LOT today. I started walking at 10 am when I left the hotel to go and search for a place to have breakfast at (ended up at Le Pain Quotidien, breakky pictured below) and I finally rambled into my hotel room door again at 8 pm. Phew, what a day! Let’s just say my feet, legs and back are crying… I’ve spent the day walking around Kensington, Notting Hill, visiting the Natural History Museum, doing a stint of shopping around Harrods and visiting Kensington Palace (just outside). London is so full of sightseeing!
Favorite part of the day
My favorite part today though, was visiting the Natural History Museum – what an incredible place! And how cool that it’s free to visit?! I loved wandering around the museum. My favorites in the museum were the dinosaurs, which came as a shock to me as I’ve never cared much for dinosaurs, but I guess it was seeing their grand bones IRL that had me starstruck! I am however SO happy that we don’t have them around anymore – imagine how scary that would be..? I mean they were huge, and probably also dangerous.
In addition to the dinosaurs I also really liked the ‘Vault’ -department of the museum, where they had gemstones, rocks, minerals and such. I could’ve easily taked everything home- everything was so beautiful! And it was also very interesting to read up on every item (ok, not EVERY item, but some of them). I especially liked these silvery ones pictures below.
Plans for my third day in London
Tomorrow will be my third day here in London, and since it’s Monday, I plan on being a busy bee. The plan is to take the underground to the ‘Big Ben, London Bridge etc.’ -part of London and there find a good breakfast place first thing in the morning. And after that… Well, same as today, sightseeing all day long!
But now I really have to sleep. I’m almost falling asleep while writing, did I mention I’m tired? I’ve probably walked about 20 km today, no wonder I’m so tired. Zzzz… I’ll keep you posted on my London adventure ♥
